Jewelry

I like making jewelry and painting my toenails and baking cakes. Little bits of creativity smashed into my schedule help me keep my sanity.

I made this necklace and bracelet during Kelly's Spanish class.

Summer and Heather gave me a package of Shrinky Dinks for inkjet printers for my birthday. I had fun finding images and making little thingamabobs out of them. I think this one is my favorite. Thanks to the Graphics Fairy for all the lovely clip art she makes available. Summer introduced me to her blog. It is wonderful and addictive!

Now that's the best use of shrinky dinks I've ever seen. Love how the bird connects to the birdie chain. Looks so pretty!

This is SOOOOOOO cute! I adore that bird image (and keep thinking I'm NOT gonna use it again) but now you've got me running for my shrink plastic. Who knew it could be used for something so 'grown up'?? Thank you for the wonderful inspiration!

So pretty!!! This turned out great! I forgot that I bought some Shrinky Dink stuff awhile back and haven't used it yet, now I'm going to have to go dig it out, because this is just too cute! Thanks so much for linking this up for "Brag Monday".

Ahrisha,
Here is a link for you to check out. Be sure to get the one specifically made for inkjet printers if that is what you will be using it for. Also,
here is an interesting discussion on Etsy about it. I used Krylon satin spray to seal my charms and it worked well.

Oh, I just adore this little bird necklace. So sweet.

I have some shrink film for the ink jet printer, by Grafix. Every time I have used it, it curls up so badly. So I get discouraged. What shrink film do you use? Thanks, Victoria

Thanks! I have the Shrinky Dinks brand (see link in comment above). It does curl up, but then it flattens back down before it is done shrinking.
Here and here are a couple of good tutorials that might help. I used the suggestion in the second one and put parchment paper on top to keep the curled edges from sticking together. Good luck!

This is stunning and sweet, all in one! I'd love to give it a try! I don't want to lose the link, and wanted to share with others too for Mothers Day this year, so it's featured it in a roundup of my favorite DIY Mothers Day gifts, here:
